In 2023 I partially “retired” from my executive coaching and organizational health consulting practice of 35 years, and prior to that 15 years as a Counselor and Family Therapist. Now I am back Mentoring individuals who want to greatly improve their professional performance, enhance their personal relationships, and develop more fulfillment and purpose in their lives. I will also Mentor intact teams who are experiencing interpersonal dynamics that hinder performing as a team at the highest level.
I’m especially interested in helping individuals develop successful ways of managing work/life balance while also performing up to their full potential. This balance is especially hard to find in our modern, fast paced, and expensive world. Fulfilling our potential professionally has many challenges to address for anyone, and can be especially hard for those who want to perform at the “world class” level in their field. I can help.
During my career of fifty years I practiced first as an individual and family therapist in the Atlanta area, my home town. Then in the late eighties, after moving to Maine with my family, I did some clinical work, and helped train some new family therapists. Mostly I made a career transition to working as an organizational development consultant both as an internal employee and as an external consultant. I worked with over fifty organizations, both for profit and non profit. A list of these is available upon request. I primarily worked with business leaders and teams as an executive coach, trainer, and facilitator.
Now, I will gladly work with any individuals willing to do the work necessary to grow personally, and teams interested in improving their interpersonal dynamics.
I’m married, the father of three wonderful and thriving adults, and the grandfather to four grandchildren who I tend to smile and laugh a lot with whenever I can.
Music has always been a big part of my life. I love to listen to all types of music, and I play the guitar and piano. Not professionally, but good enough to enjoy it very much.
I walk/hike, bike, and do yoga for exercise. Over the years I’ve written many essays, Op-eds, and poems. Some are published. I included a few on this website.
Personally, I still have much work to do to become my “best self” but I keep trying. Sometimes with success and other times I stumble along making mistakes. That’s life. The important part for all of us, I believe, is to keep trying.
